Uzbekistan was until 1991 part of the Soviet Union and is known for its mountaineering and rock climbing, peaceful nature, having the deepest cave in Asia at Boi-Bulok and its ancient cities Bukhara and Samarkand which are over two and a half thousand years old. High season runs from May till September.
