The region comprises more than 7.000 islands, islets, reefs, and cays and many where colonized by European countries in the 15th till 17th century.

The Caribbean includes 30 countries as The Bahamas, Cuba, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and Puerto Rico, as well as a lot of small tropical islands as Cayman Islands, Saba, Saint Martin, Turks & Caicos Islands and the Virgin Islands.
